Lord Mayors Visit
A Special Visit from the Lord Mayor
Last Friday, our school was delighted to welcome the Lord Mayor of Cork, Councillor Fergal Dennehy, along with his wife, for a very special visit.
On arrival, the Lord Mayor was warmly greeted by our pupils, who presented him with a gift of locally produced treats as a token of our appreciation. He received the gift with great delight and thanked the children for their thoughtfulness.
During his visit, the Lord Mayor spoke to the children about his important role in the city and shared some fascinating insights into the history of the Lord Mayor’s office. The pupils were eager to learn more and enjoyed the opportunity to ask him questions, which he answered with generosity and good humour.
To conclude the visit, our entire school community came together to perform our school song, Together We Are One. The Lord Mayor and his wife were very moved by the children’s singing, which created a wonderful sense of pride and togetherness.
It was a memorable occasion for our school and we are very grateful to the Lord Mayor and his wife for taking the time to visit us.
